Why Animark

Engineered to outlast the animal

A tag that fades, snags or falls out costs you the record. Every component we make is designed around one outcome: identification you can still read years from now.

01

UV-stable material

Aircraft-grade thermoplastic polyurethane resists sunlight, frost and rubbing — colour and flexibility hold for the animal's full life.

02

Laser-etched legibility

Numbers are laser-fused into the surface, not printed on top. They will not wear off, smudge, or scratch away in the race.

03

One-piece retention

A tamper-evident locking pin and flexible neck distribute strain, cutting tag loss to a fraction of a percent across the season.

04

Traceability built in

Optional FDX-B / HDX EID, barcodes and QR link every animal to your herd software for movement, medicine and breeding records.

Procurement questions

Our metal-tip two-piece tags are engineered for low loss over the animal’s productive life. Retention performance data is provided with each quotation, and faulty tags are replaced under our guarantee.

Replacement tags are produced with the same numbering so the animal’s identity is preserved. Replacements can be added to any order or requested separately.

Electronic tags follow ISO 11784/11785 (FDX-B and HDX) and work with any standards-compliant stick or panel reader. Numbering and data formats are matched to your national identification scheme.

Minimums and lead times are confirmed per order and depend on format and marking. National-scale orders are quoted individually and usually cost less per unit; samples are dispatched ahead of production.

Yes. We work with institutional purchase orders and can agree net payment terms for approved organisations. VAT is handled according to your destination.

Every tag is made to order. Specify the numbering range, prefix, colour and optional logo, and we produce to that specification with permanent laser marking.

Animark — About
What we do

Precision tags, engineered to be read

Animark makes identification tags and EID systems for cattle and sheep, trusted on farms across Europe.

In-house production

Tags that stay readable

Every Animark tag is engineered and made to exacting international standards — moulded, laser-marked and quality-checked. We handle numbering, quality control, certification and delivery, so you get identification that stays legible for the full working life of the animal, from a single accountable supplier.

Visual tags, electronic EID and the tools to fit them: identification that is precise, durable and simple to order in the numbering you need.

What we stand for

Three things we won't compromise on

It has to last

A tag that fails is a lost animal record. Ours are built and tested to read clearly years after they go in — through sun, frost and mud.

Kind to the animal

Soft polyurethane, smooth edges and balanced weight mean less irritation and faster healing at the tag site.

Honest to deal with

Clear pricing, real lead times and a person who picks up the phone. No surprises between quote and delivery.

Sourcing & quality

Sourcing & quality assurance

Every Animark tag is engineered and made to exacting international standards. We control quality on every batch and manage numbering, certification and delivery — a single, accountable point of supply.

Made to our specification

Every tag is made from UV-stable thermoplastic polyurethane to our specification — material controlled from pellet to finished panel.

  • UV stabilisers blended into every batch
  • No recycled filler — virgin material only

Laser marking

Numbers are fused into the surface with a fibre laser — not printed on top — so they can't peel, fade or be rubbed away.

  • High-contrast, readable at distance
  • Every digit verified by camera

EID encoding

Transponders are programmed and read-tested to ISO 11784/85 before they're ever paired with a visual panel.

  • 100% scan-tested, no exceptions
  • HDX and FDX-B options

Our quality control

We batch-sample every order for retention force, legibility and colour, and manage numbering and traceability before dispatch.

  • Documented quality process
  • Full batch traceability
Responsibility

Made with the land in mind

Animark tags are made with responsible production in mind — recyclable materials, reduced waste and plastic-free cardboard packaging. Identifying animals well is part of farming responsibly, and the tags are made responsibly too.

Electronic identification

How electronic ID works with your database

Each electronic tag carries a unique, unalterable code that links the animal to its record in your national or herd database — the backbone of modern traceability.

FDX-B · KEID 100

Full-duplex

A compact, lower-cost transponder read at close range — ideal for parlours, weigh-crates and everyday handling.

HDX · HEID 700

Half-duplex

Extended read range and strong performance in high-throughput races and automated drafting systems.

Encode

Each tag is encoded with a unique ISO code before it leaves us.

Apply

Fitted once with the applicator; the metal tip gives a clean, low-loss hold.

Read

Any standards-compliant reader captures the code hands-free.

Record

The code syncs to your national or herd database for full traceability.

Trusted in the field

Built for programmes that can’t afford a re-tag

We supply veterinary authorities, cooperatives and commercial holdings across more than thirty countries. A full reference list and programme case studies are available under NDA on request.

National programmes

Numbering, prefixes and reporting matched to official identification schemes.
